I guess She wasn't kidding when she said it was tournament season! We traveled to Ohio and in two weekends Brooke brought home 4 Gold medals and 4 Golden tickets at two National Qualifier Tournaments.
The first leg of this venture had us traveling almost six hours to Cincinnati, OH where she played in the Great Lakes Diamond Regional Championship at Sawyer Park on the Riverfront. This awesome venue had 24 courts running all day from Thursday until Sunday, and Brooke had to battle 94+ degree heat in very humid weather on Friday July 28th, after waiting almost 2 hours from rain delays. Brooke went undefeated in round robin and won GOLD in Women's Singles 4.0 40-49.
On Sunday July 30th, Brooke and her double's partner Michele Barratt went 6-1 in their pool and won in only 2 games in a "best of 3" GOLD match. Not only did they take GOLD in 40-49, 4.0 but they took GOLD overall from ages 30+. Both of these wins secured Brooke's spot for Singles and Doubles and Michele's spot for Doubles at the USA Pickleball Diamond Amateur Championship in Pictona at Holly Hill, FL this December.
We travelled back home to PA and 4 days later Brooke was back on the road to Columbus, OH to play in the WPT Challenger at the Pickle & Chill facility. Brooke and Michele teamed up again and swept their bracket in Women's Doubles 4.0 40+. Brooke took home another GOLD and a Second Golden ticket for this event. Her first golden ticket in Women's Double was acquired in Bradenton, FL back in February. Brooke and Michele have secured their spot at WPT Amateur Invitational Championships in Dallas, TX on January 12th, 2024
The following day, Brooke teamed up with Mixed Double's partner Lucas Cherry and went 8-1. They took Silver overall in 30+ but won GOLD and a Golden Ticket in their 4.0, 40+ Mixed Doubles division. Brooke and Lucas have secured their spot at WPT Amateur Invitational Championships in Dallas, TX on January 13th, 2024
With Brooke's WPT GOLD win for Singles in Bradenton, FL she also secured her spot to play singles at WPT Amateur Invitational Championships in Dallas, TX on January 11th, 2024
Brooke played all of these matches with her Engage Pursuit Ultra EX.
This week, we're relaxing, if you want to call it that. A 4 day stay at the beach, then over to Hamilton, NJ to play in USA Pickleball New Jersey Open. She's already got a couple days of playing pickleball lined up here in Delaware, so maybe we'll get over to see the beach for a little bit, lol! I'm so proud of Brooke, Michele and Lucas! Keep the streak going …
